2007 CLASSES

Upstairs/Downstairs
Behind the Scenes at a Gold Coast Estate PLUS Regular
House Tour of Coe Hall

Explore the Coe Estate as both a workplace and unique community for the cadres of maids, footmen, groundskeepers, stable hands and chauffeurs.  A short slide lecture and booklet introduces participants to the Coe family and Planting Fields.  This extensive tour of the mansion’s basement-level work areas and third-floor servants’ quarters focuses on

areas not traditionally open to the public tours.  After traveling the many staircases of Coe Hall, join us for light refreshments while you wait for two of our fabulous Docents to take you on another tour to view the first and second floors of the house and conclude your visit.
