Blue Atlas Cedar

Cedrus atlantica ‘Glauca’ This blue-needled form of the Atlas Cedar is hardier than the green leafed species and more often planted. Cones grow relatively low on this tree. Look for the green or brownish one-year-old cones among the needles. These cones are similar to Cedrus libani. The female cones are at the top and the male cones are on the bottom This particular tree was badly damaged during a windstorm in 1973 but has made an incredible comeback since.
