Sargent’s Weeping Hemlock

Tsuga canadensis ‘Pendula’ The Weeping Hemlock is a genetic mutation that rarely occurs in nature. It differs visually from the tall species only in shape. The origin of Planting Fields’ Weeping Hemlock is somewhat obscure. It was purchased by Mr. Coe from the Parsons Nursery in Flushing, New York. The Planting Fields’ Weeping Hemlock is about 100 years old and is the largest of its type on Long Island. It measures 16 feet tall by 47 feet wide.
