Red Oak

Quercus rubra These majestic trees are located just west of Coe hall on the West Lawn. During the time when the Coes lived on the property, the area was cleared and the landscape was designed by the Olmsted Brothers Landscape Architecture Firm. These large specimen trees were placed randomly to create the appearance of an "English Park" setting. In spring many varieties of Magnolias bloom along the edges of the West Lawn.
