Exhibition through September 30th:  Fabulous Interiors by Elsie de Wolfe and Charles Duveen, 1915 - 1945 is open daily at Coe Hall/ 11:30am - 3:30pm.  Admission to the exhibition is free with $4 Coe Hall admission fee.  The Tea House near the Italian Garden is open daily from 12:30pm - 2:00pm, entrance to the Tea House is free with $8 parking fee.

Exhibition in the Manor House - Watercolor Orchids at Planting Fields By Andrey Avinoff

 

Exhibition opens at the Manor House  The exhibition is on display April 11th through May 12th and is free with $8 admission to the park. 

 

Russian émigré Andrey Avinoff painted nearly one hundred watercolors of orchids, many of the specimens owned by William R. Coe of Planting Fields.  Mostly painted in 1947 and 1948, the watercolors are now privately owned.  Thirty paintings will be on loan for the Manor House exhibition.  This show is in conjunction with the Nassau County Museum of art "Garden Party"exhibition.  For more information call Gwendolyn L. The 2014 Arbor Day Family Festival features new and exciting performances by steel drummer Robert Mitrea in the Main Greenhouse, and Frank Pedulla’s Brass Band!  Live musical shows by the crowd’s favorites Peat Moss and the Fertilizers, Strummin N Drummin, kid’s tree climb by Wonderland Tree Care, petting zoo, face painting, TR Sanctuary, caricaturist, NEW airbrush tattoos, plant clinics, tree planting with Smokey the Bear, FREE self-guided visits of Coe Hall and enjoy FREE admission to our new exhibition Elsie de Wolfe and Charles Duveen at Planting Fields on display at Coe Hall through September 30th. School Days: Planting Fields as a University 1955-1972

 

Before Planting Fields was a State Park and arboretum, it was William Robertson Coe’s estate, purchased in 1913. Mr. Coe arranged for Planting Fields to be gifted to New York State upon his death, and used as a school of horticulture, and later was part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system for 16 years. Relive the School Days of Planting Fields! This exhibition is open at the Manor House from Saturday, June 7 daily through September, 11:30 am -3:30pm Daily/Free with $8 park admission at entrance gate.
